Maria’s chosen art form is needlepoint and she uses it to great effect.
From the Rogues Gallery series, to her recent NASCAR piece, Maria’s work is a breath of fresh air, blowing the cobwebs away from an oft-overlooked form of embroidery.
I really like this work; needlepoint‘s simplicity means it doesn’t really get much credit in comparison to other stitchery forms. Maria gives the genre a wake up call and I hope that she inspires other people to give it a go and see what they can do.
